Happy 2012, everyone!
I just posted a new property near Petaluma that has a lot of promise! Please read the below listing and let me know if you're interested (don't forget to include the ID# when you contact me!).
Sonoma County ID#1369: 4+ acres of (not yet certified) organic farmland available for lease, with potential to expand on a 20-acre property in Petaluma. Property has been in landowner’s family for five generations and has most recently grown heirloom tomatoes, peppers, squash, melons, herbs, onions, and more. Landowner has built up the soil over the past five years using organic compost, aged manure, and oyster flour, and seeks a farmer who will maintain and/or improve the soil fertility while farming the property. The property offers greenhouses, potting shed, packing/storage/office space, irrigation infrastructure, and perimeter fencing. Landowner lives on property, and there is an RV space with hookups and/or a small trailer available for rent. Landowner is interested in a cash lease and will also provide custom tractor/dump truck work. Some equipment, hand tools, and other implements may be available. Property is flat with a slight slope that helps with drainage and has excellent sandy-loam soil. Deer and wild turkeys have not been historically problematic. Landowner welcomes vegetables, herbs, and flowers, and would be open to discussing livestock as well. Poultry area is also available.
