Is There Potential for Farming on State Park Land?

One of my North Coast FarmLink members sent this to me, with the hope that we can ask whether or not there might be space in the plan for the California State Parks to set up leasing arrangements with farmers. I plan to attend and hope to see some of you there! Read on for more details . . .

For an Oversight Hearing on California's State Parks

Strategies for Protecting Our State Parks in Challenging Times

The purpose of the hearing is to review the impacts of state budget cuts and potential park closures and to explore alternative strategies and models for managing the California Department of State Parks following the failure of Proposition 21 and in light of the state's continuing budget challenges.

Please note: The hearing will be held outdoors, so please dress accordingly. Also, there is a $7.00 fee to enter the park; if you would like to waive the fee to attend the hearing, parking attendants will be prepared to waive it.
